Fugitive Accused of Beating Wife to Death in Maryland Dunkin' Donuts May Be in NYC Metro Area: FBI

A nationwide manhunt is underway for a fugitive charged with beating his wife to death in a Maryland Dunkin' Donuts where they worked, and authorities say he might be in the New York City metropolitan area.

Bhadreshkumar Chetanbhai Patel, 24, has been on the run since his 21-year-old wife's body was discovered in a back room of the store April 12 after a customer called police to report no staff was in the store.

Patel was spotted at Newark Penn Station in New Jersey the next day. He has been charged with murder, assault and a weapons offense, and is considered to be armed and dangerous.

Patel was born in India, and was in the United States legally, but his VISA expired in March, authorities said.

The FBI is offering a reward of up to $20,000 for information leading to his arrest.
