G-Men Snow Dazed!

Feds took Monday off while the city soldiered on

The subways ran, postal workers trudged through deep snow -- hell, even the Naked Cowboy showed up for work on Monday.

But the people charged with protecting the city from terrorists stayed home.In the face of a winter storm that blanketed the city with nine inches of snow, the FBI's New York field office called for a snow day, sources told the New York Post.

"The whole office was officially closed except for one shlub stuck answering the phone," a law enforcement source told the paper.

Roughly 1,100 agents and 800 support staff were told not to bother showing up for work, with many being notified via their Blackberrys hours before Mayor Michael Bloomberg gave the city's school kids the day off.

"Criminals don't take snow days and neither should crime fighters," Councilman Peter Vallone Jr. told the Post.
