F Train Express Service to Return in Brooklyn

F train express service could return to Brooklyn, the MTA announced Tuesday.

The express service is expected to shorten some commutes by 6 to 7 minutes each way and will begin in Fall of 2017, authorities said.

Other riders will see their commute times rise, as trains will skip some local stops along the route.

The MTA says that it expects to see strong opposition in some communities, like Red Hook and Cobble Hill, which could see longer wait times and reduced local service as a result of the change.

Details about the service changes were debated in a City Council hearing Tuesday afternoon.
