A former New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission clerk who got tens of thousands of dollars in return for allowing more than 200 people to obtain permits and licenses without passing required exams is now headed to state prison.

Rodman Lora received a seven-year sentence on Friday. He pleaded guilty in April to conspiracy, computer criminal activity and tampering with public records.

Authorities say the 39-year-old Ridgewood, New York man entered passing test scores for dozens of people who paid him an average of more than $700.

Another man involved in the scheme also received a state prison sentence Friday.

Luis Tiburcio, a 46-year-old Passaic resident, was a "runner" who brought customers to Lora. He received a three-year sentence.
