Eviction Delayed at “Real Housewives” Stars' Home

"Real Housewives of New Jersey" co-stars Melissa and Joe Gorga can't evict a tenant from their mansion just yet because it isn't a registered rental property.

Superior Court Judge Stephen Taylor said Friday he would hear the case again on Sept. 2 if the Gorgas can properly register their Montville mansion as a rental property.

The Daily Record of Parsippany reports that the couple has been trying to evict Kai Patterson and his company since June 10.

They had claimed he hasn't been paying his $20,000-a-month lease-purchase agreement.

Patterson's lawyer unsuccessfully attempted to get the case dismissed.

"It's simple," the lawyer, Richard Koppenaal, said. "Either you comply with the law or you don't."

Patterson disagreed with what he owes the Gorgas and said he made repairs that were not paid for.

"We plugged up a hole so the beaver can no longer get in," Patterson said.

The Daily Record reports that before the case was called, Melissa Gorga walked up to Patterson as he spoke with reporters and said that everything he had said is "BS."

"There's a lot of acrimony," Koppenaal said as she walked away.

The Gorgas also claimed they want to move back into the house to register their three children for school.
