Prisoner Who Escaped From Hospital Is Found: NYPD

The suspect was found inside a Far Rockaway home

A man who slipped out of his handcuffs and escaped custody at a hospital has been found, police said.

George Jordan, 36, was arrested Saturday inside a Far Rockaway home, police said, a day after he went on the lam.

Jordan had been arrested Friday on charges of petit larceny and resisting arrest. Police said he was seen shoplifting bars of soap and other items from a Queens pharmacy.

Officers took the Queens man from a station house to St. John's Episcopal Hospital when he complained of shortness of breath a few hours after his arrest, police said.

That's where he slipped out of his handcuffs and fled, police said. Jordan now faces an additional charge for escaping custody.
