Suspect in Long Island Bullet-Through-Window Slay Pleads Not Guilty

Brett Knight was arrested Oct. 8 in Tennessee

A man who was arrested in Tennessee after the killing of a popular equestrian on Long Island has pleaded not guilty to murder and other charges.

Brett Knight was arraigned Wednesday on a six-count indictment.

His lawyer says Knight is looking forward to fighting the charges.

Ross Reisner was killed Sept. 24 in Setauket. He was shot through his own window.

Prosecutors say one of the 11 shots fired also grazed the forearm of Reisner's partner, Kevin Murray.

Prosecutors allege the suspect said he wanted to kill both men. He had rented a basement apartment from them.

They say he had two handguns, including the alleged murder weapon, when he was arrested Oct. 8 in Seymour, Tenn.
