A man was fatally shot in the East Village Monday afternoon, police say.
Police say a gunman shot the 33-year-old victim four times in front of the victim's home at the Lillian Wald Houses at 20 Avenue D.
The man was taken to Beth Israel Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Neighbors who knew the victim, identified as Shemrod Isaac, said he had a child and was known to be an aspiring rapper.
A motive wasn't clear. Police are searching for 21-year-old Shaquille Fuller in the shooting. His listed address shows he lived in a neighboring building.
