Dummy Explosive Used in Failed Bronx Robbery

Police are searching for a man they say unsuccessfully tried to rob a Bronx money transfer store by using a fake bomb.

The man put a dummy explosive device on the counter of an International Money Transfer in Wakefield Tuesday night, according to the NYPD.

That's when they say the unidentified robber told the clerk he had three minutes to hand over cash before fleeing the scene.

They say no money was taken.

Surveillance footage shows the man entering the store wearing a black, hooded jacket.

The store's phone number was busy Wednesday evening.
