Drunk Man Doesn't Realize He'd Been Shot Until Sobering Up the Morning After: Cops

A drunk man on Long Island didn’t realize he was had been shot until the next morning when he was sober enough to realize it, police say.

Nassau County cops claim the 28-year-old man was getting a ride home from a friend around 10 on the night of the Fourth of July. It was then when he saw he was bleeding from his abdomen, but never checked what was causing it.

Police said it wasn’t until the morning when he sobered up and realized the blood was from a gunshot wound.

He went to a nearby hospital, where he was treated and released for injuries not considered to be life-threatening.

Authorities urge witnesses to call police with tips.
