Drug and Weapons Cache Found In Connecticut Home

A major cache of guns and illegal drugs was confiscated in a Connecticut bust over the weekend, police said.

The city of Bridgeport’s new violent crime reduction task force served a warrant at an Aldine Avenue address and found 85 pounds of marijuana, Xanax, steroids and a cache of weapons, police said.

Officers broke down the door after the suspect in the case, Jack E. Kelhoffer, refused to answer the door, authorities said.

Kelhoffer was spotted by officers in the house’s kitchen, steps away from a loaded pistol on a table behind him.

Officers and members of the Bridgeport Fire Department then opened two safes found in the basement of the house and discovered 21 hand guns and rifles, authorities said.

Kelhoffer was charged with several drug and weapons possession felonies, police said.

Attorney information for Kelhoffer was not immediately available.
