3 Accused of Selling Drugs at Brooklyn, Manhattan Colleges

Authorities have busted a pair of drug-dealing operations at New York City colleges, charging a maintenance worker at one of the institutions and two other people with narcotics charges.

Victor Vigniero, Osvaldo Espaillat and Javon High were indicted on multiple drug distribution charges following a pair of investigations at Manhattan College and Brooklyn College earlier this year, authorities say.

Vigniero and Espaillat were both charged after the investigation at Manhattan College, authorities say. Officers with the NYPD’s narcotics units began investigating the flow of drugs in the private college, which is actually in the Bronx, after getting a complaint in February.

Undercover agents made a series of undercover drug purchases and were able to track down the narcotics to an apartment near the college. In August, they were able to identify Vigniero as the alleged dealer and Espaillat as his supplier and arrested both, authorities said.

Officers later executed a search warrant on Vigniero’s apartment and allegedly found cocaine, oxycodone pills and cash.

In an unrelated investigation, officers discovered that High, a worker at Brooklyn College in Flatbush, was selling cocaine near the college.

Undercover drug cops were able to set up a series of meets with High, police say. They allegedly bought cocaine from him near several college buildings, including its Early Child Education Center. On at least one occasion, police said that High allegedly sold drugs to cops at a building near two public schools.

High, who had worked at the college for six years, was cuffed during one of his shifts at the university.

Attorney information for the three men wasn’t immediately available.
