The FBI is investigating a drone crash in New Jersey, authorities say.
Police in Linden confirm the drone crashed on top of a car outside the Bayway Refinery early Wednesday.
The operator of the drone picked up most of the pieces and fled the scene, police said.
A Linden police spokesman said the drone crash is being taken seriously "in light of what happened in Paris" last week.
No injuries were reported and a spokesman for the refinery said facility operations were not affected.
