A 26-year-old New Jersey man was arrested on animal cruelty charges for allegedly leaving his dog in his pickup truck for two days while he took a trip to New York.
Authorities say the suspect's father found the Labrador pit bull mix named "Mischief" dead in the car in Howell Sunday night.
It had been trapped there for 48 hours.
The animal was taken to a lab for testing.
