Long Island Oncologist Accused of Vandalizing Corvette With Screwdriver

A Long Island oncologist is accused of causing $10,000 in damage with a screwdriver to his ex-wife's boyfriend's Corvette.

Authorities say 62-year-old Robert Weiner, of Port Washington, was arrested Wednesday night and charged with criminal mischief.

According to a felony criminal complaint, Weiner scratched the sports car with the screwdriver on Sept. 4 in Port Washington.

Weiner's Legal Aid attorney said her client has no criminal record and requested that the judge release him from custody, according to Newsday.

The judge ordered the doctor to stay away from the Corvette owner and released Weiner on his own recognizance.

Weiner didn't enter a plea. He told Newsday that his ex-wife violated an agreement they had. He said "this was retribution to that."

He has a practice in Lake Success.
