Director Accuses Police Complaint Board of Bias

Complaint board director is accusing her colleagues of racial discrimination

The executive director of the New York City agency that investigates allegations of police misconduct is accusing her colleagues of racial discrimination.

Civilian Complaint Review Board Executive Director Joan M. Thompson and her lawyer have sent a letter to her colleagues outlining her charges.

They also said they would filed a complaint with the federal Equal Employment Opportunity Commission unless the agency moved to "resolve this situation in an amicable fashion."

In documents sent to the board, Thompson says she was "subjected to discriminatory remarks" and referred to as a "black bitch."
A spokesman for the board says the agency does not "comment on personnel matters or actual or threatened lawsuits."
