The murder trial is scheduled to begin for a woman accused of orchestrating the killing of her husband at a New York City playground in front of their daughter.
Dr. Mazoltuv Borukhova has been charged with murder and conspiracy charges in the death of Dr. Daniel Malakov, an orthdontist.
He was killed on a Queens playground on Oct. 28, 2007.
The couple had had an acrimonious custody fight over the girl. Authorities say Borukhova exchanged 90 phone calls with the suspected gunman, her uncle, Mikhail Mallayev, and paid him nearly $20,000. He was charged with being the triggerman. Both have denied any wrongdoing.
Opening arguments are set for Wednesday.
