The decomposed remains of a woman whose legs had been cut off were discovered in the attic of a home in Queens Saturday, two weeks after a man living there committed suicide, police said.

Police responded to the home at 97-26 Van Wyck Expressway in Richmond Hill at about 11:30 a.m. Saturday for a report of a supicious odor. That's when they discovered the box in the attic.

Investigators say the woman was between 5 feet 3 inches and 5 feet 9 inches, and she appeared to have dark hair that was dyed blond.

She had six tattoos: "Danny" on the top of the left wrist; "Evelyn" on the inside of the left wrist; the Cancer astrological symbol on the left forearm; a butterfly on the right wrist; an angel fish on the front right shoulder; and the word "serenity" on the right index finger.

Police are asking anyone who recognizes the description of the victim contact them.

On July 20, the body of a man, 32-year-old Dvendra Autar, was found hanging from a pull-up bar in the Richmond Hill home.

On Saturday, Autar's brother, Devchand Autar, 34, a nine-year veteran of the NYPD, was cleaning out his brother's belongings from the home when he discovered the woman's remains in a box in the attic.

A neighbor, David Singh, 46, told the Daily News that he often saw a woman at the home up until two months ago.

Singh said the normally friendly Autar had seemed standoffish in the weeks before he killed himself.

"He was a nice person," Singh told the News. "I feel bad about it."
