2 Dead, 3 Injured in Yonkers Parkway Crash

Westchester County Police said a Mercedes Benz was speeding when it struck a Honda Civic near Rumsey Road

A second person has died following a two-car crash that left three others injured, Westchester County police said.

Police said a Mercedes Benz was speeding when it struck a Honda Civic near Rumsey Road around 12:15 p.m. Sunday on the Saw Mill River Parkway in Yonkers. 

It hit the center divider and flipped over several times. 

There were five people inside the Mercedes, two of whom were ejected from the vehicle, officials said. One was in cardiac arrest at the scene and later died at St. Joseph's Medical Center in Yonkers.

The second person ejected from the Mercedes died Monday.

They were identified as 46-year-old Tony Fortune and 28-year-old Shanikka Hunter.

The driver and two other passengers from the Mercedes were still hospitalized Monday. The driver of the Honda was treated and released.
