A dead whale has washed up on an East Hampton beach on Long Island, authorities say.
The Atlantic Marine Conservation Society says the 12- to 14-feet long minke whale washed up on Indians Wells Beach late Monday afternoon.
AMCS is working with marine patrol and the highway department to formulate a response plan for Tuesday morning. A team will conduct a necropsy on site at that time.
