De Blasio Postpones Vacation Departure

The mayor was scheduled to leave for his nine-day vacation on Friday

Mayor de Blasio postponed his family vacation to Italy until Saturday, the mayor's office announced Friday afternoon.

De Blasio was scheduled to leave for his nine-day vacation on Friday.

The mayor's office said in an emailed statement that the departure had been postponed "in order to attend to city business."

Some criticized the mayor's decision to take a vacation when the prospect of the LIRR strike still loomed.
