Tri-State Faces Dangerous Winds

New York City, Long Island and northeast New Jersey are under a high wind warning Saturday

    Dangerous winds will continue into Saturday, as New York City and Long Island remain under a high wind warning.

    There have already been wind gusts of over 40 mph in some areas early Saturday morning.

    A high wind warning, meaning there could be wind gusts of 50 to 60 mph, is in effect for New York City, Long Island and northeast New Jersey up until 6 p.m.

    The rest of the tri-state area is under a wind advisory, meaning there could be gusts of 40 to 50 mph, until 7 p.m.

    A passing snow shower is possible, especially in the Hudson Valley and northwest New Jersey.

    The wind gusts will eventually diminish overnight.
