A father who left his 3-year-old daughter in a New York City sandwich shop has pleaded guilty and is headed for substance abuse treatment.
Stanley Frederique admitted Wednesday to child abandonment and child endangerment. He may withdraw the felony abandonment plea and have only the misdemeanor endangerment charge on his record if he completes treatment and stays out of trouble.
If he doesn't, he could be sentenced to 18 months or more in prison.
The 34-year-old took his daughter to a Subway store in Harlem in July 2015, placed an order and then took off - without her. Court papers said he told police he didn't remember the incident.

Frederique said Wednesday he's looking forward to putting the episode behind him.
