Police say a bicycle rider has been fatally struck by a landscaping truck on Long Island.
The crash happened just after 4 p.m. Thursday on Albany Avenue at Sunrise Highway in Amityville.
Suffolk County police say the driver of the landscaping truck, 38-year-old Mario Lazo, made a left turn and hit the cyclist.
The cyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity was not immediately released.
Lazo and a passenger in his truck were not injured. The investigation is continuing.
