Three months after Gov. Cuomo’s re-election, a new poll published Monday finds that his approval rating is the lowest ever with over half of New York voters viewing him unfavorably.

A poll by Siena Research Institute found that Cuomo’s approval rating among voters dropped to a negative 43-50 percent—a fall from December’s rating of a positive 51-43 percent.

“Politically, Cuomo’s ratings drop is across the board, as he fell with Democrats, Republicans and independents,” said Siena College pollster Steven Greenberg in a statement.

The poll also found that Sen. Chuck Schumer’s favorability rating fell 47-46 percent, and though voters have lost faith in him and Cuomo, they say that Democratic control of state government will move the state in the right direction.

"Siena doesn’t always get it right," said Cuomo senior advisor Rich Azzopardi. "We've had the most productive month in history that finally saw the passage of popular, long stalled legislation and we're going to continue to move New York forward."
