Ct. Cops Look for Armed Gunman Disguised as Aging Rocker

He looked a little like Derek Smalls, the bassist from Spinal Tap

It's a wonder that more stuff like this doesn't happen around Halloween.

Police are looking for someone disguised as an aging rocker who robbed a bank in Connecticut on Thursday afternoon at gunpoint.

The man walked into Sovereign Bank in Wolcott, Ct  at 3:44 p.m., carrying two guns and wearing makeup, a wig with long frizzy hair, a mustache and sunglasses.  He bore a slight resemblance to Derek Smalls, Spinal Tap's bass player.

But this was no gentlemen, he told employees and customers to move to the vault, yelled, swore and told customers to cooperate or he would "blow their heads off," police said.

He also asked the bank manager to open the vault. After getting cash, he fled.

Police found the man’s vehicle, but he ran off into the woods. Police have not yet located him.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Wolcott Police Department at 203-879-1414.
