Police are investigating the assault of a 24-year-old man in Brooklyn as a hate crime.
Authorities say the victim, who is Jewish, was walking on Union Street near Albany Avenue in Crown Heights late Wednesday when a group of men walked up to him.
One of the men hit the victim in the face, causing pain and swelling, police say. The victim was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
