At Least 7 Hurt, Mostly Kids, in School Bus Crash on Long Island Expressway

At least seven people were hurt, most of them children, in a multi-vehicle crash involving a school bus and two other vehicles on the Long Island Expressway Wednesday, according to fire officials and police. 

Police say six of the victims in the 9 a.m. crash on the eastbound side of the highway near the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway were children and one was an adult. Fire officials initially said there was an eighth victim who was seriously injured, but police only had seven and said no one was badly hurt.  

Fire officials say five of the victims were taken to a hospital.

A cause of the crash is under investigation.
