Couple Unhurt in Small Plane Crash

A pilot of a small plane and passenger were able to walk away from their aircraft Saturday morning after it crash-landed in a field soon after taking off from a New York airport, state police said.

Keith and Margaret Kilgallen of Florida were flying from Allentown, Pa., to Burlington, Vt., when their single-engine began to lose power just after taking off from Dutchess County Airport, where they had stopped for fuel.

Keith Kilgallen, an experienced pilot, was able to bring the plane down on a hillside near the airport in Wappingers Falls.

The couple were uninjured, troopers said.
