New Jersey Couple Arrested on Human Trafficking, Promoting Prostitution Charges

A New Jersey couple was arrested Wednesday, accused of employing a girl to have sex with customers in exchange for money at a local massage parlor, prosecutors say.

The husband, 25, and wife, 18, employed the 16-year-old girl at a massage parlor at 924 Main St. in Passaic, authorities say.

The couple made appointments for the girl to have sex with people who responded to ads they placed.

Authorities were tipped off when the girl's mother found a business card in her child's possession, according to prosecutors.

The couple has been arrested on charged of human trafficking, promoting prostitution and child endangerment. A human trafficking conviction carries a mandatory 20-year sentence in state prison before parole eligibility, prosecutors say.
