A woman caught on surveillance video allegedly making off with $360,000 worth of jewels from her Manhattan hotel companion last week has been identified by police.

The woman, 34-year-old Erika Cooper of Manhattan, is accused of stealing the gems from a sleeping guest at Cosmopolitan Hotel in Tribeca, with whom she checked in at about 12:30 a.m. last Tuesday, April 17.

The 47-year-old victim, who is a gems trader, told police he'd met the woman earlier that night at the Whiskey Bar at 100 Central Park South. The two went to the Cosmopolitan Hotel together, and he fell asleep after the two had sex, police said.

That's when Cooper allegedly took off with his briefcase full of jewels.

Anyone with information on Cooper is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS or at nypdcrimestoppers.com.
