Cornell University says it received a record-high number of applications for admissions.

The Ivy League school said more than 51,000 students applied for a place this fall in the Class of 2022. Cornell this past week offered admission to 5,288 applicants and offered another 6,684 students a place on a waitlist.

Admitted students have until May 1 to accept Cornell's offer of admission.
