Cops Seek 2 in Brutal Sex Attack on Bartender

Police are seeking two men wanted in the beating and rape of a female bartender inside a Long Island tavern.

Suffolk County police say the woman was alone at the Mount Sinai bar when she was attacked about a half hour after the tavern opened. Her name has not been released because she is a victim of a sexual assault.

Detective Sgt. Frank Stewart says one of the men beat the woman in the head and slammed her face into the floor. She was sexually assaulted while on the floor, during which time one of the men asked her how they could access the cash register.

The men fled the scene after sexually assaulting the bartender without taking any money.

They say one suspect is 5-foot-10, with a medium build and reddish-brown or blond hair. The second suspect is about 5-foot-5, with a medium build, brown eyes, brown hair, a thick beard and a goatee.

Both men were wearing multiple layers of clothes indicating that they may have been engaged in outdoor employment or activity.
