Cops Find Pot, Thousands of Dollars on 21-Year-Old Man Resisting Arrest on Long Island

A man tried to escape police during an arrest in Long Island, flailing his arms and pushing the officer as he tried to run away, authorities said.

Corey Howell, 21, of Great Neck, was arrested Saturday around 12:50 a.m. after officers witnessed a hand-to-hand drug deal in front of a home on Great Neck Road, Nassau County police said.

When Howell tried to flee, the officer suffered cuts, bruising and pain to his hand, knee and elbow, police said.

Authorities said they found marijuana, non-odor drug bags, a scale and over $3,500 in cash when cops searched Howell's car.

Howell faces a host of charges, including assault, possession of a forged instrument criminal sale and resisting arrest.
