Cops Find 2 Submachine Guns on Man Stopped for Public Drinking: NYPD

A man stopped for public drinking on Staten Island had two submachine guns on him, police said.

Two officers saw the man drinking on Harrison Avenue early Saturday, the NYPD said.

As the officers approached him, the suspect threw a bag onto the grass and ran.

When the officers opened the bag, police say they found an Intratec Model AB-10 submachine gun and a Calico Model M-9 submachine gun.

Cops caught up with the unidentified 33-year-old suspect after a brief foot chase. He was charged with criminal possession of a machine gun, criminal possession of a weapon and public consumption of alcohol.
