Cop Struck by Livery Cab in Times Square

A police officer was struck by a livery cab in Times Square while attempting to pull it over Tuesday evening.

The cab took off from the scene, hitting the officer and causing him to fall to the ground, said police.

He was taken to Cornell Medical Center with minor injuries to his back and neck, police said. He is in good condition.

The officer was reportedly attempting to pull over the cab for picking up an illegal fare.

The driver, Soumaila Sondo, 28, of the Bronx, turned himself in Wednesday, police said. He was charged with two counts of assault and reckless endangerment. It wasn't clear if he had an attorney.
