Man Tried to Kidnap Woman Walking on Queens Street: NYPD

Police investigating the kidnapping attempt of a teen in Queens are asking for help identifying and locating the suspect.

An 18-year-old woman was walking on 25th Avenue while approaching 126th Street in College Point just after midnight Sunday when a man driving a four-door sedan approached her, according to police.

The man asked the woman if she wanted a ride, and she declined and continued walking. The suspect then parked his vehicle at the corner of 25th Avenue and 124th Street, got out of his car, grabbed the victim around the waist, put his hand over her mouth and tried to drag her back to his vehicle.

The victim resisted, and the suspect ran back to his car and took off, going northbound on 124th Street.

Resident Eddie Lijo said, "It doesn't happen around here, it's really a safe neighborhood."

Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS.
