Cold ‘Cut' Suit

A Queens man says he was horrified to bite into a cold-cut sandwich he bought at Subway - and find a large serrated knife inside. John Agnesini, 27, told the New York Post "I felt something hard on the bottom of the bread. I turned it over and could see the knife baked inside." He said the sharp end of the 7 inch blade was facing upward at him in the sandwich had begun to eat. Agnesini, who bought the sub from a store on West 35th Street, plans to file suit in Manhattan Supreme Court today, charging the eatery violated local health codes and public health law. He was not badly injured, but says he became violently ill with severe stomach distress for several hours afterward. A Subway spokesman refused to comment on Agnesini's claim, saying it was investigating the incident.
