Suspect Identified in 1992 Brooklyn Cold Case Killing: NYPD

Henderson Griffith was shot and killed on July 28, 1992

New evidence unearthed this summer has helped lead detectives to a suspect in a 21-year-old cold case homicide, the NYPD says.

Police found evidence in July linking Wade Arthur to the shooting death of Henderson Griffith on July 28, 1992 in the Brownsville section of Brooklyn.

Police found Griffith with a gunshot wound to his chest at Strauss Street and Lott Avenue. The 23-year-old was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Police say that Griffith and Arthur knew each other. Witnesses also saw Arthur, now 42, at the scene.

Police are looking for Arthur, but cannot confirm whether he is in New York. If you know anything about Arthur’s whereabouts, call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS or go to www.nypdcrimestoppers.com.
