Clawed! Cops Nab Cat Mask Burglar

28-year-old busted in SoHo after string of robberies

Cops can scratch at least one outstanding robbery case off their list.

Police arrested a 28-year-old in connection with a string of armed robberies by a woman dressed up like a cat.

Cops busted Shanna Spalding, of Astoria, after officers noticed someone fitting the suspect's description (did the cat mask tip them off?) leaving a SoHo store on Wednesday.

The clerk told officers that she had just been robbed and police arrested Spalding soon after.

Police suspect the slim brunette, who tried to shield her face from cameras as cops led her to a car after the arrest, has robbed at least three other stores in Manhattan and Queens since April 2009. On two of the occasions, police say Spalding handed a note to an employee that said she had a gun and demanded money.

Another time, she told a clerk that her husband was about to come into the store and shoot everyone if the employee didn't fork over cash. Cops say Spalding, who's reportedly a vocalist in a death metal band called Divine Infamy, made off with an unspecified amount of money each time and fled on foot.

She faces robbery, menacing and weapons possession charges.
