Police are searching for a man they say robbed a bank in East Garden City on Long Island Tuesday afternoon.

Police say the man walked into a Citibank at 600 Old Country Rd. at about 2:45 p.m., presented the teller a note, then verbally demanded cash while flashing a handgun, police said.

The teller complied, and the suspect ran out the west doors of the building, police said. There were eight workers and one customer inside the bank at the time. 

No one was hurt.

The suspect is described as about 45 to 55 years old with a mustache, wearing a light blue jacket, beige shirt, a dark baseball cap and sunglasses.
