A 54-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly choking another man who had a fight with his daughter over a basketball game at an upstate New York gym, authorities say.
Joseph Biggs arrived at 24 Hour Fitness on Fashion Drive in Nanuet after his 24-year-old daughter had gotten into a shoving match with a 27-year-old man over something that apparently happened on the basketball court, according to police. The nature of the dispute wasn't clear.
When Biggs got to the gym, he allegedly choked the 27-year-old man until the man blacked out. The man regained consciousness and refused additional medical attention.
Biggs was taken into custody and charged with second-degree strangulation, a felony. He was arraigned in Clarkstown and released on his own recognizance. It wasn't immediately clear if he had an attorney.
