Seven children were taken to hospitals after an SUV and a pickup truck collided on Long Island Monday, authorities say.
Two of the children had serious injuries following the accident around 1 p.m. near Peninsula Boulevard and Lyon Place in Lynbrook.
Lynbrook's police chief says the pickup truck was making a lefthand turn when it broadsided the SUV.
The children were all in the SUV, along with two adults, the police chief said. Only one adult was in the pickup truck.
None of the adults was injured.
A neighbor near the crash scene told NBC 4 New York some of the children appeared unconscious. The neighbor said the intersection has been problematic.
