Three New Jersey doughnut shops have cracked a list for some of the best doughnuts in the country.
According to NJ.com, two owners of a famed doughnut and fried chicken shop in Philadelphia claim Curiosity Doughnuts in Stockton, Brown's in Ocean City and McMillan's Bakery in Westmont are among some of the best in the United State. NJ.com reports Mike Solmonov and Steven Cook, owners of Federal Doughnuts, made the choices in a new cookbook they released last week.
Although not a conventional list of bests, Solmonov and Cook certainly have a lot of respect for three Garden State shops, according to NJ.com.
Solomonov named Curiosity Doughnuts’ buttermilk lime and apple pie with butterscotch glaze donuts as his favorites, NJ.com reports. He describes Brown’s as having a smell of vanilla and honey.
He says McMillan's cream-filled doughnuts “will rock your world,” according to NJ.com.
The other doughnut shops named in the book are Underwest Donuts in New York; Stan's Donuts in California; Dynamo Donut + Coffee in San Francisco; Blue Star Donuts in Oregon; Glam Doll Donuts in Minneapolis; Five Daughters Bakery in Nashville, and Doughnut Vault in Chicago.
