Chain-Snatcher Targets 2 Elderly Women in Bronx: NYPD

The NYPD is looking for the chain-snatcher they said has targeted at least two elderly women in the Bronx in the last two weeks.

Authorities said that the man robbed an 92-year-old woman on Aug. 14 and an 82-year-old woman on Aug. 21.

The woman told NBC 4 New York that she was in her room taking her medication when the man approached her in her bedroom. 

"He said give me your money," she said.

The woman said that the man took about $30 or $40 dollars from her purse and a gold chain with two wedding rings and a cross on it. 

"I said, 'Please don't hurt me. Just take the money and go,'" she said. "And then he took my chain. 

In the second, authorities said that the man followed a woman into the vestibule of her building and pulled her gold chain from her neck. He then pushed the 82-year-old to the ground and kicked her before leaving.
