Man Stole 22 Cemetery Vases, Planned to Sell as Scrap: Cops

Suffolk County police say 26-year-old Shaun Dosch of West Babylon was arrested Saturday.

A Long Island man has been arrested for stealing 22 bronze vases worth more than $7,000 from a cemetery, police say.      

Suffolk County police say 26-year-old Shaun Dosch of West Babylon was arrested Saturday after they were tipped off that Dosch was stealing cemetery vases.      

Police say Dosch stole 22 bronze vases from Pinelawn Memorial Park in Farmingdale over the past several months. They say he intended to melt them down and sell them for scrap.      

Dosch was to be arraigned Monday on charges including criminal possession of stolen property and criminal possession of a controlled substance.      

Information on an attorney for Dosch was not immediately available.
