Woman Indicted for Allegedly Mowing Down Love Rival With Her Car

Prosecutors say a Mount Vernon woman accused of mowing down a love rival with her car has been indicted on manslaughter and other charges.

Westchester County District Attorney Janet DiFiore said Thursday that Carla Scott could face up to 25 years in prison if convicted in the April 18 death of 37-year-old Glynis Pinto in Yonkers.

Authorities allege Scott struck Pinto as she crossed the street, launching her onto the hood, then drove about 30 yards with her sprawled there. Pinto then fell onto the road and was run over.

She was taken to the hospital unconscious, with serious wounds to her legs and body, and pronounced dead there.

Scott was arrested several days later.

Her attorney, Arnold Kronick, says Scott's not guilty plea "speaks for itself."
