Authorities released new surveillance video Tuesday that shows a man wanted for questioning in the slaying of Gov. Cuomo aide Carey Gabay, who was shot in the hours before the West Indian Day Parade in Brooklyn last month.
Gabay, a first deputy general counsel at the Empire State Development Corporation, was caught in the crossfire between two gangs around 3:40 a.m. Sept. 7 near the parade route in Brooklyn as more than two dozen shots from up to three guns were fired.
The 43-year-old Harvard-educated lawyer and Bronx native was shot in the head; he died after being hospitalized for more than a week while in a coma.
Police have said Gabay was an unintended victim. There have been no arrests in his shooting.
The newly released surveillance video shows a man with a backwards hat and glasses walking down the street shortly before 4:40 a.m. the morning of the shooting. He is wearing a camouflage shirt and walking with another person in a striped shirt.
