Con Edison Workers Hit by Car on Upper East Side

An out-of-control car hit two Con Edison workers at a construction site on the Upper East Side Wednesday afternoon, the utility says.

A driver lost control near Lexington Avenue and 87th Street at about 2:30 p.m., hitting one Con Ed worker who was getting out of his car and another worker who was sent flying 10 feet into the air, COn Edison said.

The victims were taken to Cornell Medical Center, where they were listed in serious but stable condition.

Authorities said it appears the driver suffered a medical condition that caused the driver to lose control of the car. The driver was also taken to the hospital.
