Calling All NYC Blacksmiths: Get Paid $100,000 a Year

Need a job? Are you at metal enthusiast capable of welding parts? No need to look further, the perfect opportunity might be right in front of you – if you live near a New York City park, that is.

Gothamist reports the Parks Department is hiring a number of full-time jobs ranging from park rangers to yes, blacksmiths. If you can forge and shape tools and automobile parts, repair fences, and use a power hammer, this might be the perfect opportunity for you.

The Parks Department requires you to have five years of full-time experience – but it won’t go unrewarded. If you apply, you can put yourself in the running to make a salary of $100,725.

That’s just the basic requirement, though. The job posting also highlights that communication, supervisory skills and Microsoft Office proficiency will make you the star candidate for this position.

In other words, they're looking for an impressive fusion of the medieval and modern-day New Yorker.
